13 December 2017 - James Buttler

Botham, Bairstow, Lehmann, Lloyd, Cowdrey, Stewart, Compton, Sidebottom, Butcher, Broad ... many top players have sought to follow in the footsteps of a famous cricketing father or grandfather. Through exclusive interviews with players, sports psychologists and genomics experts, James Buttler, the 'Cricket Badger', explores these father/son relationships in a revealing new book, Following On: in the Footsteps of Cricketing Fathers (Great Northern, 2017). Why is the sport so multi-generational and how does the weight of expectation affect a young player's progress?

Former Media Manager with Yorkshire CCC, and now a freelance sports journalist, author and broadcaster, James Buttler's other works include Yorkshire CCC On This Day: History, Facts & Figures from Every Day of the Year (2012) and Killer Instinct: Tales and Trials of Murderous Sports Stars (2015). He also presents his own Cricket Badger Radio Show.

'James Buttler has found a niche in the market with this excellent book ... It deserves a place on the bookshelf of every genuine follower of sport, particularly cricket.' David Warner - President, The Cricket Writers' Club
